Here are some road trip ideas for the coast of Australia:

The Great Ocean Road

One of the most popular road trip ideas in Australia is traversing The Great Ocean Road. You will drive from Torquay to Allansford. Along the way, you will be able to explore The 12 Apostles and take beautiful pictures of the color-changing sunset or sunrise.

Great Eastern Drive

When you are looking for a very interesting road trip idea, you need to try the Great Eastern Drive. You will drive your way in Tasmania and experience the various activities around the island state. Don’t forget to check out Port Arthur, a UNESCO World Heritage site that was once a prison of convicted criminals of heinous crimes.

Grand Pacific Drive

You can traverse awesome but dangerous cliffs by the sea when you choose to do your road trip on the Grand Pacific Drive. This route is an hour away from Sydney, Australia, and very accessible as long as you have the car to use. There's this Sea Cliff Bridge where you can stop over and take great pictures.

Nullarbor Plain

When you are a seasoned road tripper, you can try the Nullarbor Plain. You will travel from Western Australia to the South using the Eyre Highway, the longest and flattest highway in the country. You can quickly hop off at the Eucla National Park and rest then continue with your route.

Great Beach Drive

As the name suggests, in this route, you will hop from one island to another. Before going into this adventure, you need to prepare yourself for a heart-stopping yet rewarding adventure. You will be able to pass through Rainbow Beach before you get to the destination - Noosa.

Brisbane to Gold Coast

If you are looking for a road trip that will feel like you’re just roaming around cities, try the route from Brisbane to Gold Coast. You can try out the bars and restaurants from one city to another.
